Grief Support
First Baptist Church has been a leading ministry in Rockingham County in helping those who have suffered significant loss. We have seen hundreds of people helped by our dedicated efforts to offer support and hope. Grief Baskets are offered to those in our church family who have been touched by the passing of a loved one. Counselling with our pastor is always available to anyone who is suffering from the confusion and disorientation of a debilitating loss. Dr. Chuck McGathy, himself widowed twice, has learned that grief can be managed and life can go on. Periodically he offers classes in support of the grieving. IT'S JUST GRIEF meets on Tuesday afternoon 1:30 to 3pm in the Church Fellowship Hall. There is no cost to attend this group. There is no requirement that you belong to this church or any church. Just come if you find that you are stuck in grief and want to learn from supportive friends how you can live through it. The old saying, "Time heals all wounds" does not necessarily apply to grief. Grief can be debilitating and prolonged. It takes deliberate changes of thought and actions to move beyond grief and into life again. This group can help you.
If you are ready to face your grief and go on with life contact us at 336-548-6112.
Our next IT'S JUST GRIEF meetings will resume on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 1:30 to 3:00 in the church Fellowship Hall.
