Minstries. We believe that as a community of faith we are called into ministry together. Together we learn about God's grace as it plays forth the music of God's love and forgiveness in and through our lives. We share it joyfully in many ways and we invite you into the great adventure of following Jesus.

LearningWe provide weekly opportunities to learn about the meaning and application of faith. Christian Education is offered at 10:00 on Sunday Mornings, and during the week through the Grief Support Group and the midweek study "Get Sane at the Mad Bean." We welcome all. Come as you are and grow in the knowledge and living out of God's grace in your life.

GivingWe are a generous people. There is always some way to give to help others. We need goods, volunteer service, and monetary donations. Together we support the grieving, homeless, those with special needs, those struggling with alcohol and substance abuse, refugees and immigrants, and those in other countries striving to find new life in Jesus Christ. Come and give yourself away with us.

ServingWe believe that the greatest joy in life is not found in being served, but in being the servant of others. Here at First Baptist Church you will be invited into numerous opportunities to be of service to your neighbor. Service of others is an important part of our ministry. It builds love between us and expresses Go's love through us. Come serve Christ with us.

Jesus taught his followers: "...for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’ And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.’ " (Matthew 25: 35-40)

And to Peter he said: When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.” A second time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. (John 21:15-17)

"Take up your cross, and follow me..."It may be a bit surprising to see a church promising to ask you to learn, give, and serve. We are not into competing with the bigger programs, the finer entertainment, and the "feel good" religion offered by other organizations. We think they have missed out on something truly important. We instead think of ourselves as a faith family, helping one another, staying in our community, and expressing God's grace in all we do. Therefore we are always open to new ways of ministry and we hope that you will catch that same vision and join with us to touch the lives of men and women, girls and boys with an enduring Christian faith.
